Take a typical day. Your daily agenda would probably include catering to work, children, house and cooking. With enough on your plate already, you want to lose those few extra pounds. You pick up magazines and read about those diets, the Beverly Hills Diet, The Grapefruit Diet, The Fruitarian Diet and the list is endless. Celebrities shall swear by them. So you pick one and it says eat only one food type at a time, do not mix carbs with proteins in one meal, stop fruits after 10 days of starting the diet. So the million dollar question is, is it practically possible to plan your entire day around your high profile diet? Good for those who can, for others: not a problem.
Be it a diet regime, or a work out regime, pick one that you know you can follow week after week, month after month. Something that fits in your routine and schedule, you can be consistent with, and not the one because Madonna swears by it. Know your food well, the healthy fats and the unhealthy ones, switch to a healthier oil. Keep white sugar and white flour away from your daily meals. Strike a balance with vegetables, fruits and cereals. Come to terms with a diet that is friendly with you, since a rigid one is bound to drive you away.
So its okay if your pattern of eating has not been given a name and flocks of people are not swearing by it, as long as you still manage to keep it healthy, thats all that matters.
